Thank you for your letter dated September 3, 1985, informing us of the steps you have taken to correct the item which we brought to your attention in our letter dated August 6, 1985. Your corrective actions will be verified during a future inspectio Your letter requested that we reevaluate the severity level assigned to the violation, noting that the intent of regulatory requirements for dual verification of valve position had been satisfied in the instance cite However, the Notice of Violation.cited the failure of a knowledgeable supervisor (SRO) to follow approved procedures, in a manner which under other circumstances could have resulted in a lack of required dual verificatio This and other recent examples of failure to follow procedures have indicated a need for additional attention to this area.
