Dear Sir:

On November 2, 2005, the NRC issued a letter, "Request for Additional Information Regarding the February 2002, Order Section B.5.b, for Brunswick, Crystal River, Shearon Harris, and Robinson Nuclear Plants." In the letter, the NRC requested that Carolina Power and Light Company, now doing business as Progress Energy Carolinas, Inc. (PEC), provide for Harris Nuclear Plant Unit 1 (HNP), within 45 days of the date of the written request (December 17, 2005), certain information exchanged during meeting between representatives from Progress Energy plants and the NRC staff on August 18, 2005. That meeting was held, in part, to discuss Requests for Additional Information related to the February 2002, Order Section B.5.b, for HNP.

The Enclosure to this submittal provides the information requested for the Harris Nuclear Plant.

No Regulatory Commitments are contained in this submittal.
