U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission AEP-NRC-201 5-78 Page 2 On March 12, 2012, the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Reference 1 to all power reactor licensees and holders of construction permits in active or deferred status.

Reference 1, Enclosure 1, "Recommendation 2.1: Seismic," requested licensees to submit a Seismic Hazard Evaluation. Reference 2 provided a proposed path forward for responding to Reference 1. The proposed path forward included a deterministic Expedited Seismic Evaluation.

By Reference 3, Enclosure 2, Indiana Michigan Power Company (I&M) provided an Expedited Seismic Evaluation Process (ESEP) report for the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant (CNP) Units 1 and 2. Section 8.4 of the ESEP Report identified five actions that would be taken by I&M. These five actions are updated as follows:

Action 1 stated that walkdowns for inaccessible and late addition components listed in Section 7.1 of the report would be completed prior to restart of Unit 2 at the completion of its spring 2015 refueling outage. Action 1 has been completed.

Action 2 stated that screening and evaluation of the inaccessible and late addition components listed in Section 7.1 of the report would be completed within 90 days following restart of Unit 2 at the completion of its spring 2015 refueling outage. Action 2 has been completed.

Action 3 stated that ESEP plant modifications not requiring outages would be completed by December 31, 2016 (two years after submittal of the ESEP report). Action 3 is being tracked as a Regulatory Commitment as stated in Enclosure 2 to Reference 4.

Action 4 stated that ESEP plant modifications requiring outages would be completed within two outages after submittal of the ESEP report (Ul1C28 fall 2017, U2C23 fall 2016). Action 4 is being tracked as a Regulatory Commitment as stated in Enclosure 2 to Reference 4.

Action 5 stated that the NRC would be informed that the above noted evaluations and modifications are complete within 60 days following completion of all the above noted modifications. This letter provides notification that the above noted evaluations are complete. I&M will inform the NRC of completion of the above noted modifications within 60 days following completion of all the modifications. This action will be tracked as a Regulatory Commitment in the CNP Commitment Management System. to this letter provides an affirmation.
