| Description | Unit 1 Technical Specification 6.4.1.a states, in part, that written procedures shall be implemented in accordance with Regulatory Guide 1.33, Revision 2, Appendix A, Section 7.e, Radiation Protection Procedures, which requires procedures for access control to radiation areas. Station Procedure EN-RP-100 Radiation Worker Expectations, Revision 7, step 5.3 [16] stated, in part, To enter a high radiation area, the radiation worker must be provided with a radiation monitoring device which continuously indicates the radiation dose rate in the area. Contrary to the above, a radiation worker entered a posted high radiation area without a radiation monitoring device which continuously indicates dose rate. Using Manual Chapter 0609, Appendix C, Occupational Radiation Safety Significance Determination Process, the finding was determined to have very low safety significance (Green) because the finding: (1) was not related to as-low-as-reasonably-achievable planning or work control, or exposure control, (2) did not involve an overexposure, (3) did not constitute a substantial potential for overexposure, and (4) did not compromise the licensees ability to assess dose. The issue was placed into the corrective action program as Condition Report CR-ANO-1-2012-1599. |
