No. 22 Steam Generator. Feed. Flow Channel 2 and No. 24. Steam Generator Steam Flow Channel 2 - Inoperable.

This report was initiated by Incident Report 21-252.

CONDITIONS PRIOR TO OCCURRENCB:

Mode 1 - Rx Power 30% - Unit Load 220 MWe

- DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE:

At 1030 hours0.0119 days <br />0.286 hours <br />0.0017 weeks <br />3.91915e-4 months <br />, July 14, 1981, during routine channel checks, No. 22 steam generator feed flow channel 2 and No. 24 steam generator steam flow channel 2 were declared inoperable due to erratic operation.

Action No.

7, for technical specification LCO 3.3.1, table 3.3-1 was entered and the incperabli protection channels were placed in the tripped condition within the required 1 hour1.157407e-5 days <br />2.777778e-4 hours <br />1.653439e-6 weeks <br />3.805e-7 months <br />.

This occurrence constituted opertion in a degraded mode in accord-ance with technical specification 6.9.1.9.b.

DESIGNATION OF APPARENT CAUSE OF OCCURRENCE:

Equipment failure.

The erratic operation of the channels was due to transmitter sensing line leaks at 2 instrument tubing fittings.

On July 14, 1981,.the instrument tubing fittings were tightened and

The channels were returned to service.and performed properly.
