Diesel Generators Inoperable CONDITIONS PRIOR TO OCCURRENCE:

Mode 5 Cold Shutdown Diesel #2B out of service awaiting parts DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE:

Diesel Unit Trip Relay (DUTR) on Diesel #2A tripped.

Action State-ment 3.8.1.2 was entered at 1353 hours0.0157 days <br />0.376 hours <br />0.00224 weeks <br />5.148165e-4 months <br /> IAW limiting condition for operation in the Technical Specifications.

This occurrence con-stitu~ed operation in a degraded mode IAW Technical Specification 6.9.l.9b.

DESIGNATION OF APPARENT CAUSE OF OCCURRENCE:

DUTR tripped because of undetermined cause.

ANALYSIS OF OCCURRENCE:

Since Diesel #2B was out of service awaiting parts when Diesel #2A DUTR tripped, only one Diesel Generator was available for service.

IAW the limiting condition for operation in the Technical Specifi-cations, all operations involving core alterations or positive reactivity changes must be suspended until a minimum of two Diesel Generators are restored to operable status.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

The DUTR was reset and the Diesel Generator was restored to operable status after the satisfactory completion of SP(O} 4.8.1.1.la and SP(O} 4.8.1.1.2.

The Action Statement was terminated at 1556 hours0.018 days <br />0.432 hours <br />0.00257 weeks <br />5.92058e-4 months <br />.
