Victor Dricks E-Mail: opa4@nrc.gov Phone: (817) 860-8128 NRC NAMES NEW SENIOR RESIDENT INSPECTOR AT CALLAWAY NUCLEAR PLANT The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has assigned David Dumbacher as senior resident inspector at the Callaway nuclear plant, near Fulton, Mo.

David Dumbachers extensive technical and regulatory experience will assist the NRC in carrying out its mission of protecting people and the environment and ensuring the safe operation of nuclear power plants, said NRC Region IV Administrator Elmo E. Collins. Jr.

Dumbacher graduated from the Miami University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics in 1980. Following graduation he worked for the U.S. Navy as a commissioned officer aboard the USS Texas CGN-39. He worked for 17 years for the Exelon Corp. as a control room supervisor and fuel handling supervisor.

In 2002, Dumbacher joined the NRC at the Region IV office in Arlington, Texas, as a reactor engineer. He has served as resident inspector at the Callaway nuclear plant since 2004.

Each of the countrys commercial nuclear plants has resident inspectors who serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting regular inspections, monitoring significant work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public.
