ISSUANCE OF RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NO. NPF-86 FOR SEABROOK STATION, UNIT NO. 1 (CAC NO. ME4028)
Dear Mr. Nazar:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the Commission) has issued Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-86 for Seabrook Station, Unit No. 1 (Seabrook). The NRC issued the renewed facility operating license based on its review of NextEra Energy Seabrook LLCs (NextEra) application dated May 25, 2010, as supplemented by letters submitted to the NRC through August 29, 2018. The technical specifications for Seabrook were not amended as a result of the NRCs license renewal review. Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-86 for Seabrook expires at midnight on March 15, 2050.
The NRC report, Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Seabrook Station, sets forth the technical basis for issuing the Seabrook renewed facility operating license (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML18362A370). The NRC also conducted an environmental review of the Seabrook license renewal application. The NRC provides the results of this environmental review in the record of decision (Enclosure 3 to this letter) as well as in Supplement 46, Regarding Seabrook Station, Final Report, to NUREG-1437, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, dated July 2015 (ADAMS Accession Nos. ML15209A575 and ML15209A870). to this letter contains Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-86 for Seabrook. contains the following appendices related to Seabrook:
- Appendix A, Technical Specifications
- Appendix B, Environmental Protection Plan
- Appendix C, Additional Conditions The NRC made no changes to the Appendices (technical specifications, the environmental protection plan, or the additional conditions) as a result of this license renewal.
M. Nazar Enclosure 3 is the Record of Decision for Seabrook. is a draft copy of the related Federal Register notice of issuance of the renewed license as sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
