~~h~~~l Attachment 8 Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation License No.DPR-63 Docket No.50-220 Supporting Information The proposed change included in Attachment A, provides a more realistic representation of actual Power Void'imits

("8" factors)than the present limits. The present"8" factor calculations were based on constant dryout times for each of the 7 x 7 and 8 x 8 fuel types.Subsequent evaluations by General Electric, however, revealed that dryout times are exposure dependent.

The re-calculated "8" factors, shown on pages 64c-64e, reflect these variable dryout times. It should be noted that the proposed limits are generally more r'estrictive for Fuel Types l and 3, and generally less restrictive for Types 2, 4, 5 and 6.Since Fuel Type 4 is currently limiting power output, the net effect of this change would permit a slight increase in power from the plant.
