With unit in. steady state operation, it was discovered that the "3EB" diesel generator lube oil circulating pump was inoperable.

- Conditions Trior to Occurrence:

Unit 1 - 98% steady state power.

Unit 2 - Scheduled refueling outage.

Unit 3 - 99%. steady state power,

Action specified in the Tech 2ical Specification Surveillance Requirements met due to.noperable equipment. Describe.

Required Tech. Spec. redundant systems were tasted..

Apparent Cause of Occurrence:

Bearings in the oil circulating pump locked due to norma 2 end-of-life.

t Analysis of Occurrence:

There was no danger,to the health or safety of the public, no damage,to plant or equipment, no release of activity, and no significant resulting

chain of events.

Corrective Action

The oil circulatin' pump was replaced. No future corrective action is required s

due to low failure rate.
