FACILITY: Crystal River Unit 3 REPORT DATE: September 4,1981 Occurrence Date: August 5,1981 IDENTIFICATION OF OCCURRENCE:

The Auxiliary Building ventilation exhaust system was, inoperable con-trary to Technical Specification 3 7.8.1.

CONDITIONS PRIOR TO OCCURRENCE:

Mode 1 Power Operation (100%).

DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE:

C At 0605, during normal operation, it was discovered that the Auxiliary Building ventilation exhaust system had no flow although fans AHF-14B and 14D were in = operation.

Fan AHF-14A and 14C were started,and flow returned to normal.

Mainte' nce was initiated, and operability was restored at 1612.

DESIGNATION OF APPARENT CAUSE:

The cause of this event is attributed to failure of solenoid AH351SV, Johnson Service Company Model 49-21916.

ANALYSIS OF OCCURRENCE:

There was no effect upon the health or safety of the general public.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

The solenoid was replaced. No further corrective action is deemed nec-essary at this time.

FAILURE DATA-This was the first occurrence of this type,and this-is the fourteenth event reported under this Specification.
