The Radiation Environmental Monitoring Program (REMP) required by the U.S. N'iclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Technical Specifications for the Prair,'e Island Nuclear Generating Plant is described. Results for 1991 are sumrt

?ed and discussed.

Program findings show background levels of radioactivity in the environmental samples cMiected in the vicinity of the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant, with the exception of some of the additional special ground, well and surface water samples. These special ground, well and surface water samples are summarized and documented separately in Appendix D 2
