APPLICATION FOR THE MODEL NO. CR3MP PACKAGE - ACCEPTANCE LETTER
Dear Philip W. Noss:
By letter dated September 1, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System
[ADAMS] Accession No. ML21244A485), Orano Federal Services LLC submitted an application for approval of the CR3 Middle Package (CR3MP). Staff performed an acceptance review of your application and, by letter dated January 6, 2022 (ADAMS No. ML22006A365), Orano Federal Services LLC responded to our October 14, 2021, request for supplemental information (ADAMS No. ML21286A798). On February 2, 2022 (ADAMS No. ML22033A537), Orano Federal Services LLC submitted a revised application.
The revised application appears to contain the necessary information to begin our detailed technical review. The schedule allows for the staff to issue a possible request for additional information in the July 2022 timeframe, and, if no additional information is needed, issue a letter authorization for this one-time shipment by the end of October 2022. The staff estimates that completing the safety review of this application will require approximately 850 staff hours.
