Dear Mr. Saverot:
On September 1, 2021 Orano Federal Services submitted a Special Package Authorization (SPA) application requesting approval of the Safety Analysis Report (SAR) for the CR3 Middle Package (CR3MP) as a Type B(U)-96 Package (Reference 1). The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) acknowledged the request and issued a Request For Supplemental Information (RSI) in order to continue the review (Reference 2).
The information needed to continue the NRC review has been addressed as enclosures to this letter. Enclosure 2 to this letter contains the CR3MP SAR Revision 1 (Proprietary Version) which addresses changes relative to Responses to the RSIs (attached as Enclosure 3 - also Marked Proprietary). Enclosure 4 is a Non-Proprietary version of the CR3MP SAR. Enclosure 5 is a Non-Proprietary tabulated list of SAR changes made as a result of the RSI responses. Enclosure 1 is an affidavit pursuant to 10 CFR 2.390 supporting withholding the Proprietary Revision 1 SAR (Enclosure 2) and RSI responses (Enclosure 3).
