| Title | Evaluation of the Occupational Radiation Dose Assigned to a Worker from a Piece of Contaminated Wire |
| Description | While working in the reactor building an individual received a puncture wound in their hand from a piece of contaminated wire. Licensee attempts to decontaminate the wound were unsuccessful and the radioactive material from the contaminated wire remained inside the individuals hand. The licensee was reviewing that data and determining what dose to assign to the individual. The NRC will review the methodologies used once the licensee has completed its assessment to determine if a violation of regulatory requirements existed. This issue is identified as URI 05000369,370/2012005-02, Evaluation of the Occupational Radiation Dose Assigned to a Worker from a Piece of Contaminated Wire. |
