Transportation Branch Ap3roval Record Model Nos. GE-21)F-1 and W-21PF-1 Packages Docket No. 71-4909 By application dated March 30, 1987, as supplemented April 3, 1987, Westinghouse Electric Corporation requested that the Westinghouse Electric Company package design be amended to permit an increase in the inside dimension (length) from 81" 1/8" to 82.6" 1 1/8". The overall length of the outside of the overpack would be increased a similar amount to 91" i 1/8".

We have reviewed the modification and conclude that the requested change will have no significant effect on the structural and thermal aspects of the package. The procedures for modifying the package when coupled with the Drawing notes appear reasonable.

The above change will not effect the ability of the package to meet the requirements of 10 CFR Part 71.
