The liCI-21PF-1 Protectlye Sn!pping Package is ueed to ship 30-inch UF6 Cyllncers containing uranium enriched up to 5% U-235 with fill limits per 49CFR173.417 anc/or ORO-651. Table 9 For uranium enrichea from natural uranium, these fill limits ao not exceed Type A quantitles of racloactive materials.
- However, tnese p6ckages may be usec in the future for the chipment of reprocessec UF6 which may contain fleston procucts anc caughter procucts up to the limits specified in ASTM C-787.
As a result.
such UF6 may exceed Type A quantitles and require Type B l
packaging for ehlpment.

Maintenance Proccam 1.
Overpack Repaire Overpacks which are rejected during any of the above routine i
inspections shall be repaired and reinspected conforming to drawing requirements per the above DC Acceptance Tests and to the requirements of ORO-651 and ANSI N14.1 (latest revisions).
2.
Routine Maintenance Gas <ets shall be replaced every 12 months or more often if founo ceteriorateo or camaged.
Vent plugs shall be relaced whenever they are founc missing.
3.
Annual User Inspections The user shall establish written procedures for annual Inspection of each Mocel NCI-21PF-1 Overpack requiring inspections to verify the following items as a minimum (a)
Lifting / stacking frames. lifting eye-bolts, closure clamps, anc tie-down supports are sound and free from weld cracks, damage, and deterioration.

Closure clamps are properly acJusted and locked.
1 (c)
All vents are properly sealed.
(d)
Gaskets are replaced every 12 months and are in place, I
intact, and not damaged or ceteriorated.

Inner and outer shells are free of holes, cracks tears, and L
broken welds, and the inner shells are free of debris and standing water.
