SUBJECT:

10 CFR PART 50.55A, ' CODES AND STANDARDS," PROPOSED RULE We have reviewed the subject oroposed rule and the OE clearance package for compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (44 !!.S.C. 3501 et-seq.)

and have placed the rule on hold with the Office of Administration pend.ng IRH's approval of the OMB clearance package and your incorporating the following changes into the rule:

Change the Paperwork Reduction Act Statement to Attachment 1.

Include the modified section 50.8, "Information collection requirements: OMB approval" (Attachment 2).

4 In addition, we offer the following suggestions for your consideration:

The spelling of " vessel" occurs as "vessl" on numerous pages.

On page 26, paragraph 2, "errer jf four places" should read " error in four places."

The text at section 50.55a(g)(6()b)(1) and (2) replaces recently codified test that has not been implemented. You may wish to check this reference and change the section numbering if these requirements are intended to be new ones, rather than replacements of newly codified text.

On ) age 53, the end of footnote 6 should read "$50.55a(a)(3)"

We have also reviewed and annotated the associated OMB clearance package (OCP) with numerous comments.
