BRANCH LEVEL REVIEW AND COMMENT ON PROPOSED REVISION TO 10 CFR 50.55a - CODES AND STANDARDS RULE Attached for you review and comment are the significant technical portions of the pror ased rule revision package which we intend to put into formal Office cor.currence.
The attached package contains'the following:
- 1) Statements of Considerations
- 2) Proposed Rule Revisions
- 3) Draft Regulatory Analysis To maintain the schedule, we need any comments you may have by May 16, 1997.
We will accommodate your comments in the package that goes into Office concurrence to expedite Office concurrence.
Note that based on recent AE00/NRR/RES Management agreement, the attached rule revision retains the full 120 month update provision. In addition, the previously 'oroposed Appendix T. that was, to address tem)orary repairs of CL. 3 piping, has been omitted from the package because an ASiE Code Case, acceptable to cognizant NRC personnel from both RES and NRR, that addresses %_
that issue, is expected to be published by ASME prior to publication of this rule revision for public coment.
