I spoke this morning with N. Dudley about the possibility of an ACRS briefing on the pkg.
before the proposed rule goes to the EDO and the Commission. A couple of weeks ago, after receiving his copy of the CRGR pkg., he forwarded it to the appropriate l Subcommittee Chairman, W. Shack, with a recommendation thh, the Subcommittee not l have a formal briefing on it until after the public comments were obtained. He pointed out i to Shack that the pkg has fewer changes in it than what was proposed 2 yrs or so ago when ACRS had first indicated that they did not want to be briefed until after the public comments had been obtained.
W. Shack has concurred with N. Dudley's recomriandation. Thus, the ACRS has confirmed that it does not want a briefing until after public comments have been obtained.
The pkg. should be revised to address the comments received at the CRGR meeting and forwarded to the EDO in time to meet the 10/15/97 date listed in the Chairman's tracking system.
