Nuclear Science Center Emergency Plan Updates - Summary of Changes (Revision 1/2020)

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter summarizes changes to update the Nuclear Science Center Emergency Preparedness Plan for the Washington State University Modified TRIGA Reactor performed in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q) reported under 10 CFR 50.4. The safety analysis, which is retained on file at the facility, concludes that the changes will not result in a reduction in the effectiveness in response to or in planning for an emergency. The WSU Reactor Safeguards Committee reviewed the safety analysis and approved the changes to the plan on 1/29/2020.

The changes to the NSC Emergency Plan were changes related to font style and general editing, departmental names, location of departments, equipment names, figure updates to reflect the current facility and university campus, clarification of organizational responsibilities, updated references to protective action guidelines, event class emergency action level clarification, and updated references to the most recent safety evaluation report that was issued as part of the 2011 facility license renewal.
