Dear Mr. Riley:

By letter dated July 6, 2006, the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) submitted, for information only, a non-proprietary version of MRP-175, Materials Reliability Program: PWR Internals Aging Degradation Mechanism Screening and Threshold Values to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). A proprietary version of this document was transmitted to the NRC in a letter dated March 31, 2006.

The NRC has performed a review of MRP-175. The enclosed NRC comments are being provided so that the Materials Reliability Program Committee may consider them in the context of their overall program. No specific response to the comments is required. However, please review the enclosed comments for proprietary information within 15 days of receipt and respond with your determination. The NRC staff will issue a non-proprietary version of our comments.
