ThisletterissubmittedinresponsetoMs.BethA.Wetzel'sNovember3,1993letter,requestingarevisiontoourpreviouslyproposedamendmentrequestfortechnicalspecificationtoincreasetheallowabletolerancesformainsteamsafetyvalves.Ouramendmentrequest(AEP:NRC:1169)providesjustificationthatasafetyvalveisoperablewithaliftsettingof+3%,andfurtherindicatesourintentiontoresetanyvaluetestedtothenominalvalueof+1%toprovideassurancethatanysetpointdriftwillnotcontinuesubstantiallyoutsidethe+3%analyzedrange.Inadditiontostatingthisrequirementinthebasesoftherespectivespecifications,astatementhasbeenplacedinthesurveillancerequirementsofSpecification4.7.1.1ofbothUnit1andUnit2,asrequested.OneadministrativechangehasbeenmadeintheproposedTechnicalSpecifications3.7.1.1and4.7.1.1tomakethemconsistentbetweenUnits1and2.Specifically,thereferencetoTable3.7-4,intheUnit2specification,wasmovedtotheSurveillanceRequirementsofSpecification4.7.1~1afterrenumberingTable3.7-4toTable4.7-1.RenumberingthetableprovidesconsistencybetweenUnits1and2.Alsoonthistable,thevalvedesignationshavebeenupdatedtomakethemconsistentwithplantcomponentnumbers.AtypographicalerrorwascorrectedinthesecondsentenceofUnit1Specification3.7.1.1.a,whichreplacedtheword"many"with"may.",940404007674032'P~'DR,'ADQCK05000315P'PDR I~I~
