Thank you for the opportunity to review this document. I have no comments and agree with the NRC's determination that there are no significant environmental impacts from the proposed action, and the proposed action will not have a significant effect on the quality of the human environment.Jennifer T. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is nearing the completion of our review of the license renewal application (LRA) for the U.S. Geological Survey TRIGA Research Reactor (GSTR) located on the property of the U.S. Denver Federal Center in Lakewood, Colorado. The NRC review of the GSTR LRA includes the issuance of an Environmental Assessment (EA), which involves a radiological review of the proposed continued operation of the GSTR facility for an additional 20 years from issuance of the renewed license (which is anticipated later this year).

One of the final steps in the EA development process is an opportunity for a review of the draft EA by the facility's state. Please review the attached draft EA and contact me with any comments, questions or concerns. We will attempt to resolve any issues to your satisfaction in order obtain your acknowledgement that our EA is acceptable. We request an email response within 30-days in order to maintain our review schedule. Please note that your email response will be referenced in the final EA and a copy of the email will be publicly-available in our document management system in accordance with the NRC policy for openness. Since the EA is pre-decisional (i.e., in draft form), we request that you do not release it to public. A public version of the final EA will be noticed in the Federal Register prior to the issuance of the renewed license. Finally, for our records, please confirm the accuracy of the information below:
