KANSAS STATE TRIGA Mk II Nuclear U N I v E R s I T y Reactor Laboratory ATTN: Document Control Desk US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555-0001 8 September 2020

Subject:

Request for Additional Information (Acc. # ML19128A342) Response Time Extension To Whom It May Concern, On June 5, 2019, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) sent a Request for Additional Information (RAI) to the Kansas State University nuclear reactor facility (license R-88, docket 50-188) regarding a license amendment request (LAR) to add up to four 12%-loaded fuel elements to the core (Acc.#

ML1219A063). Verification of core modeling geometry parameters continues to be addressed. To complete the analysis, the facility is requesting to extend the RAI response time to 9 December 2020.

Previously discussed operations restrictions are in place. Advanced notification to the NRC will be provided if changes to the administrative restrictions are expected prior to completion of the LAR review.

I swear under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct.
