Dear Sir or Madam:

In Reference 1, the NRC provided a Request for Additional Information (RAI) regarding TSTF-498, Revision 0, "Risk-Informed Containment Isolation Valve Completion Times (BAW-2461)." A response was requested within 90 days. This letter is to inform the NRC that the TSTF will need additional time to respond to the RAI and that our revised response date is October 19, 2007. The delay in the response to th e RAI was communicated to Robert Tjader of the NRC Technical Specifications Branch on September 6, 2007.

TSTF 07-29 September 24, 2007 Page 2 The technical justification for TSTF-498 is co ntained in Topical Report BAW-2461, Revision 0, "Risk-Informed Justification for Containment Isolation Valve Allowed Outage Time Change."

The RAI questions were related to differences between TSTF-498 and BAW-2461. In Reference 2, the PWROG provided comments on the draft Safety Evaluation for BAW-2461 which addressed those differences and the TSTF's draft response to the RAI was consistent with those comments. Unfortunately, the NRC's approval of BAW-2461 on August 29, 2007 (Reference 3) did not incorporate many of the PWROG's comments, resulting in the need to revise the TSTF's response to the RAI.
