Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission:

I live in Northern Manhattan, New York City, about 25 miles from the Indian Point nuclear reactors, which are up for relicensing in 2013 and 2015. I am writing to urge that you deny them the new licenses and begin to remove the irradiated fuel rods.According to your own findings, one of the Indian Pt reactors, number 3, is the US reactor most likely to suffer core damage in the event of an earthquake, and the other reactor, number 2, was found by you on April 2, 2000, to be the most trouble-plagued reactor in the country.The 911 Commission found that Al Qaeda had the Indian Pt reactors in their documents as a potential target, when they decided, instead, to destroy the World Trade towers. NYC would have been a devastated sacrifice zone, as there is more irradiated fuel in the fuel pools there than in the fuel pools at Fukushima.
==Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission:==
There's no way that the more than 20 million people living in a 50 mile radius of Indian Pt. could be evacuated in the event of a terrorist attack or natural disaster.

The US required that US citizens be evacuated within a 50 mile radius of the Fukushima reactors; surely you must know that it would be impossible in this dense urban-suburban area.Please do the right thing and deny the renewal licenses.

Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission:

I live in Northern Manhattan, New York City, about 25 miles from the Indian Point nuclear reactors, which are up for relicensing in 2013 and 2015. I am writing to urge that you deny them the new licenses and begin to remove the irradiated fuel rods.

According to your own findings, one of the Indian Pt reactors, number 3, is the US reactor most likely to suffer core damage in the event of an earthquake, and the other reactor, number 2, was found by you on April 2, 2000, to be the most trouble-plagued reactor in the country.

The 911 Commission found that Al Qaeda had the Indian Pt reactors in their documents as a potential target, when they decided, instead, to destroy the World Trade towers. NYC would have been a devastated sacrifice zone, as there is more irradiated fuel in the fuel pools there than in the fuel pools at Fukushima. There's no way that the more than 20 million people living in a 50 mile radius of Indian Pt. could be evacuated in the event of a terrorist attack or natural disaster. The US required that US citizens be evacuated within a 50 mile radius of the Fukushima reactors; surely you must know that it would be impossible in this dense urban-suburban area.

Please do the right thing and deny the renewal licenses. We have numerous studies to show that there would be adequate replacement energy from efficiency, solar, wind, tidal. Thank you for your serious and conscientious attention to this request organization:
