Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing as a resident of New York State to express my support for the relicensing of Indian Point Units 2 and 3 in Buchanan, NY. It is my understanding that the NRC is considering numerous issues in connection with the license renewal application, including concerns regarding alternative energy sources, environmental justice and it's economic impact on the region.

Indian Point is an important part of the New York State economy and, in my opinion, provides safe and reliable energy with virtually no greenhouse gas emissions. I am concerned about global warming and its effect on the environment in general, as well as its effect on low-income communities in our area.

If Indian Point were closed and replaced with fossil-fuel alternatives, air quality in the New York City area could potentially be worse. Finally, to the extent that closing Indian Point will lead to higher electric bills, those higher bills will hit low-income families the hardest.

A comprehensive alternative energy plan has not yet, in my opinion, been proposed which clearly demonstrates that shutting down Indian Point Units 2 and 3 are viable without creating an economic hardship on the NY metropolitan region. Accordingly, I support NRC's renewing the license for Indian Point Units and 3.

Sincerely, Tammy L. Nosek Resident of Newburgh, NY cc: Administrative Judge Lawrence G. McDade c/o Anne Siarnacki, Law Clerk Atomic Safety and Licensing Board Panel Mail Stop T-3F23 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555-0001 Fax to: (301) 415-5599 (verification (301) 415-7550)
