Schmidt as Director, Office of Congressional Affairs and Betsy J. Keeling as Associate Director of that office. Schmidt will join the NRC in October.
Before her new appointment, Schmidt served six years as Associate Director for Budget Presentation and Congressional Liaison in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller).
She began her Federal career in 1983 as a Presidential Management Intern with the Department of the Army. Since that time, she has held a number of progressively more responsible positions including, Chief Management Division, Directorate of Resource Management, U.S. Army Support Command, Hawaii; Senior Defense Analyst and Senior International Analyst, Committee on the Budget, U.S.
She began her Federal career in 1983 as a Presidential Management Intern with the Department of the Army. She has worked for the NRC for 22 years, coming to the NRC in 1983 as an Administrative Assistant to former Commissioner Frederick M.
