Seismic Design and Construction of ASC0A's Fire Protection System

Dear Mr. Keppler:

In Illinois Power Company letter, dated September 13, 1985, (Ref: letter D. P. Hall to J. G. Keppler, U-600259),

your office was arovided an interim report addressing the status of the subject 10CFR50.55(e) investigation. It was anticipated at the time that a final report would be provided in approximately forty-five (45) days.

A meeting between Automatic Sprinkler Company of America (ASC0A), Sargent & Lundy (S&L) and Illinois Power Nuclear Station Engineering Department (NSED) was held on September 23, 1985, to discuss the status of scheduled completion of the subject investigation and associated corrective actions. Based on the results of this meeting it is' anticipated that approximately 30 additional days will be necessary to complete our investigation, determine reportability and provide a final report on the issue.
