Withdrawal of TSTF-508, Revision 1, "Revise Control Room Habitability Actions to Address Lessons Learned from TSTF-448 Implementation."

TSTF-508, Revision 0, was submitted to the NRC for review on July 3, 2008. In response to NRC questions, Revision 1 was submitted on June 18, 2009. The NRC published the Notice for Comment on the model application and the draft Safety Evaluation in the Federal Register on October 15, 2009.

Following the submittal of industry comments on the model application and draft SE, a new set of RAIs was issued by electronic message. The TSTF responded to those RAIs in October of 2010 (ADAMS Accession No. ML102850220). Our responses were consistent with the accepted resolution of similar NRC questions on TSTF-448. However, on April 12, 2011, the NRC provided a new request to substantially revise TSTF-508, Rev. 1 to eliminate the three principal changes contained therein. Removal of the three principle changes essentially eliminates the benefit of TSTF-508 to the industry. Therefore, the TSTF hereby withdraws the proposed TSTF-508, Rev. 1 from NRC review.
