Taylor joined the NRC as a reactor engineer in Region III in 2007.

Before joining the NRC he enlisted in the Navy and received a bachelors degree in chemistry from the U.S. Naval Academy. He also earned a master of engineering management degree from Old Dominion University.

Thomas Taylor is an excellent inspector with a firm commitment to safety. As a key element for the NRC to fulfill its mission of protecting people and the environment, Taylor will be on site to ensure operators of the Palisades plant meet the high standards set by the NRC, Region III Administrator James Caldwell said.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear plant site has at least two NRC resident inspectors. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public. Taylor joins Senior Resident Inspector John Ellegood at the facility. Both inspectors can be reached at (269) 764-8971.
