Public comments on proposals to improve the Nuclear Regulatory Commissions handling of discrimination concerns will be accepted by members of an NRC task group at a public meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 14, in Waterford, Conn. The session will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. at Waterford Town Hall, 15 Rope Ferry Road, Waterford.

The NRC formed a Discrimination Task Group in April 2000 to evaluate and improve the agencys processes used in the handling of discrimination allegations made by nuclear industry workers. Those members of the public who are unable to attend the Waterford meeting but who would like to offer comments on the draft report can submit them by Aug. 17 to the NRCs Office of Enforcement web site, at www.nrc.gov/OE, or in writing to Barry Westreich, Office of Enforcement, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, D.C., 20555-0001.
