Subject:

Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation Radioactive Effluent Release Report Palisades Nuclear Plant Docket 50-255 and 72-007 License No. DPR-20

Dear Sir or Madam:

Pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR 72.44(d)(3) and Holtec's HI-STORM FW MPC Certificate of Compliance, Appendix A (Technical Specifications), Section 5.1, Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (ENO) is submitting the radioactive effluent release report for the independent spent fuel storage installation (ISFSI) located at Palisades Nuclear Plant (PNP). The report is to specify the quantity of each of the principal radionuclides released to the environment in liquid and gaseous effluents. This report addresses the operation of the ISFSllocated at PNP since placement of the first HI-STORM FW MPC Storage System on October 25, 2016.

The spent fuel storage cask systems employed at PNP do not create any radioactive material or have any radioactive waste treatment components. There is no gaseous or liquid pathway attributed to the spent fuel stored in the independent spent fuel storage facility. Radiological surveys and current postings were reviewed and demonstrated that no radionuclides were released to the environment in liquid or gaseous effluents since October 25, 2016. There is no impact to members of the public from the operation of the PNP ISFSI.

This fulfills the reporting requirements of 10 CFR 72.44(d)(3) and the HI-STORM FW MPC Technical Specification, Section 5.1.
