Title:

Public Meeting to Present the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Special Inspection Team (SIT) Report on the February 3, 2021 Event at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Reactor.

Date(s) and Time(s): March 16, 2022, 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM ET Location: NRC One White Flint North, O-06B02 11555 Rockville Pike Rockville, MD Category: This is an Observation Meeting. This is a meeting in which attendees will have an opportunity to observe the NRC performing its regulatory function or discussing regulatory issues. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments about the issues discussed following the business portion of the meeting; however, the NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.

Purpose:

The purpose of this meeting is to present the Special Inspection Team report developed by the NRC staff in response to the events at the NIST reactor that occurred on February 3, 2021. NIST staff will be afforded the opportunity to present their perspective on the event and subsequent NIST staff actions related to the event.
