AMENDMENT FOR'BNL REPORT "A REVIEW OF THE SEABROOK PSA: CONTAINMFNT MODES AND RADIOLOGICAL SOURCE TERPS" PRA; NUREG/CR-4540 Enclosed is a copy of a recent comunication from Brockhaven National Laboratory concerning this review of the Seabrook PRA. They have indicated they wish to amend several pages in their final report due to wording in the

original which they concluded did not ccnvey their intended meaning. The significant change pertains to page 60, where they originally wrote:

."There is negligible probability of prompt containment failure or failure to isolate".
This has been amended to read:
"There is negligible probability of prompt containment failure".
The reason for this change is a finding provided earlier in their report where theyindicatedabeliefthatfailuretoisglatewouldbe,greaterthanthe conditional failure probability of 4 x 10- to 2 x 10 ' associated with a sub-atmospheric containment, a further indicated the conditional failure probability may approach 410-This amendment is readily incorporated into the BNL NUREG/CR submitted to us
. for publication since we are still processing the publication authorization.
We request, by way of this memorandum, that W. Yanez substitute the amended pages. A copy of the enclosure should also go to the PDR and the PSNH.
