U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ND-19-0050 Enclosure Page2of 3 ITAAC Statement Design Commitment 4.d) Each ancillary diesel generator unit is sized to supply power to long-term safety-related post-accident monitoring loads and control room lighting and ventilation through a regulating transformer; and for one PCS recirculation pump.

Inspections/fests/Analyses Each ancillary diesel generator will be operated with fuel supplied from the ancillary diesel generator fuel tank and with a load of 35 kW or greater and a power factor between 0.9 and 1.0 for a time period required to reach engine temperature equilibrium plus 2.5 hours5.787037e-5 days
0.00139 hours
8.267196e-6 weeks
1.9025e-6 months
.

Acceptance Criteria Each diesel generator provides power to the load with a generator terminal voltage of 480 +/-

10% volts and a frequency of 60 +/- 5% Hz.

ITAAC Completion Description Testing is performed in accordance with Unit 3 and Unit 4 preoperational test procedures 3-ECS-ITPP-504 and 4-ECS-ITPP-504 (References 1 and 2) to confirm that each ancillary diesel generator unit is sized to supply power to long-term safety-related post-accident monitoring loads and control room lighting and ventilation through a regulating transformer; and for one PCS recirculation pump.

Each ancillary diesel generator is operated with fuel supplied from the ancillary diesel generator fuel tank and with an 80 kW load applied, at a power factor between 0.9 and 1.0, using a load bank. The engine temperature is monitored to determine when the operating temperature reaches equilibrium. Upon reaching equilibrium, the generator is operated for 2.5-hours under the 80 kW load while monitoring the generator terminal voltage, frequency, and power factor.

The results of each generator load test confirm the diesel generator provides power to the load with a generator terminal voltage of 480 +/- 10% volts and a frequency of 60 +/- 5% Hz.

References 1 and 2 are available for NRG inspection as part of Unit 3 and Unit 4 ITAAC Completion Packages (References 3 and 4).

List of ITAAC Findings In accordance with plant procedures for ITAAC completion, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) performed a review of all findings pertaining to the subject ITAAC and associated corrective actions. This review found there are no relevant ITAAC findings associated with this ITAAC.
