Dear Ashley Morris:
On September 27, 2024, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff received the submittal from Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. (NFS), dated July 10, 2024 (ML24282B045), that requests NRC approval of proposed changes to the NFS Site Security Training and Qualification Plan, Revision 010 (24X-24-0013). The enclosure to the cover letter is not publicly available because of its classified designation.
We have completed our acceptance review of the submittal and have identified no administrative omissions or deficiencies that would prevent us from proceeding with a detailed review. The submittal has been assigned Enterprise Project Identifier (EPID) L-2024-SPR-0010. Please reference this EPID number and Docket Number 70-143 in any future correspondence associated with this request.
Please note that the NRC staffs technical review of the submittal may identify issues that require additional information. Based on our preliminary evaluation and projection of current review schedules, we anticipate completing our formal review by March 31, 2025. This date could change depending on the findings of our technical review, urgent assignments, or other factors. We will promptly communicate any significant changes to this schedule. In addition, the NRC staff estimates that completing the review of the submittal will require up to 40 staff hours, which corresponds to about $12,680.00 ($317.00/hour).
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or electronically from the Publicly Available Records System component of the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). The PDR is currently open Monday-Friday by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, you may submit your request to the PDR via email at PDR.Resource@nrc.gov or call 1-800-397-4209 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (EST), Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays. The ADAMS database is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/readingrm/adams.html.
