REPORT ASSOCIATED WITH THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION STAFFS REVIEW OF THE PERRY NUCLEAR POWER PLANT UNIT 1, SUBSEQUENT LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (EPID NO. L-2023-LNE-0002) (DOCKET NO. 50-440)
Dear Rod L. Penfield:
Pursuant to Section 51.29 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted the environmental scoping process and solicited public comments from October 10, 2023, to November 9, 2023. This process determined the scope of the staffs environmental review of the application for renewal of the renewed facility operating licenses for Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Unit No. 1 (Perry Plant). The scoping process is the first step in the development of a Perry Plant-specific supplement to NUREG-1437, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession Nos.
ML13106A241, ML13106A242, and ML13106A244).
At the conclusion of the scoping process, the staff prepared the enclosed environmental scoping summary report identifying comments received during the scoping period. In accordance with 10 CFR 51.29(b), the staff will send a copy of the scoping summary report to each participant in the scoping process.
