SUBJECT:
CALVERT CLIFFS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 -
CORRECTION TO THE RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE PAGES IN AMENDMENT NOS. 336 AND 314 (EPID L-2020-LLA-0261)
Dear Mr. Rhoades:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has identified a typographical error in Renewed Facility Operating License (RFOL) No. DPR-53, Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant (Calvert Cliffs), Unit 1, and RFOL DPR-69 for Calvert Cliffs, Unit 2. The NRC staff is issuing this letter to correct an error per the guidance in the NRC memorandum dated January 16, 1997 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML103260096), which is derived from the Staff Requirements Memorandum (ML003754054) for SECY-96-238 (ML20134M324, non-public).
By letter dated August 13, 2020 (ML20182A194), the NRC staff issued Amendment Nos. 336 to RFOL DPR-53 for Calvert Cliffs, Unit 1, and Amendment 314 for RFOL DPR-69 for Calvert Cliffs, Unit 2, in response to license amendment request dated November 21, 2019, as supplemented by letter dated April 16, 2020 (ML19325C128 and ML20107F765, respectively) from Exelon Generation Company, LLC which has been subsequently renamed Constellation Energy Generation, LLC.
The typographical error inadvertently listed the approved technical specification (TS) amendment number for Calvert Cliffs, Unit 1, in the bottom right-hand corner of TS page 5.5-10 as 316 instead of 336.
To correct this error, NRC staff replaced 316 with 336 on the bottom right corner.
The enclosure to this letter has a copy of the revised and corrected RFOL DPR-53 and DPR -69 page 5.5-10.
If you have any questions, please contact me at 301-415-0489 or by email to Sujata.Goetz@nrc.gov.
Sincerely,
/RA/
Sujata Goetz, Project Manager Plant Licensing Branch I Division of Operating Reactor Licensing Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket Nos. 50-317 and 50-318

If crack indications are found in any SG tube, then the next inspection for each affected and potentially affected SG for the degradation mechanism that caused the crack indication shall not exceed 24 effective full power months or one refueling outage (whichever results in more frequent inspection). If definitive information, such as from examination of a pulled tube, diagnostic non-destructive testing, or engineering evaluation indicates that a crack-like indication is not associated with a crack(s), then the indication need not be treated as a crack.

Identification of a sampling schedule for the critical variables and control points for these variables;
- b.
Identification of the procedures used to measure the values of the critical variables;
- c.
Identification of process sampling points which shall include monitoring the discharge of the condensate pumps for evidence of condenser in leakage;
