Revised schedule: Diablo Canyon request to revise Technical Specification to reflect the permanent cessation of reactor operation (EPID: L-2020-LLA-0261)
By letter dated December 3, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20338A546), Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) submitted a request for Diablo Canyon Power Plant, Units 1 and 2, to revise Technical Specification to reflect the permanent cessation of reactor operation. By email dated January 12, 2021 (ADAMS Accession No. ML21012A443), the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff accepted this request for review and provided an initial forecasted completion date of January 12, 2022.
However, by letter dated April 1, 2021 (ADAMS Accession No. ML21091A069), PG&E submitted a supplement that significantly expanded the scope of the original request. The April 1, 2021, letter also provided a revised PG&E-requested NRC completion date of June 30, 2022.
Accordingly, the NRC staff has revised the estimated completion date to June 30, 2022. This schedule change has been communicated with the PG&E staff.
