OF OCTOBER 28, 2020, PARTIALLY CLOSED PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETING WITH FRAMATOME, INC. AND THE U.S.
NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION REGARDING PRESSURIZED WATER REACTOR CHROMIA-DOPED FUEL TOPICAL REPORT ANP-10340P (SUPPLEMENT)
On October 28, 2020, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a partially closed teleconference meeting via Microsoft Teams with representatives from Framatome Inc.
(Framatome). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Framatomes Topical Report (TR)
ANP-10340P (Supplement) for future planned submittal. The meeting was noticed on October 16, 2020, and is available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML20302A070.
During the open session, Framatome representatives described the objectives of the meeting and provided a description of the Chromia-coated cladding, Chromia-doped fuel pellets, and background information about the TR. During the closed meeting, Framatome representatives and NRC staff discussed Framatomes presentations on adaptation of GALILEO Models, Qualification Database, Qualification of GALILEO for Chromia-doped Fuel, Sample Problems (Mechanical, Loss-of-Coolant Accident (LOCA), Non-LOCA), Summary, and next steps for future interactions.
