OF NOVEMBER 19, 2020, CLOSED PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETING WITH FRAMATOME AND THE U. S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION TO DISCUSS FRAMATOME EMF-93-177, REVISION 1, SUPPLEMENT 3, ATRIUM BOILING WATER REACTOR ENHANCED ACCIDENT MODEL TOPICAL REPORT (EPID: L-2020-TOP-0052)
On November 19, 2020, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a closed teleconference meeting via Microsoft Teams with representatives from Framatome Inc.
(Framatome). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Framatome EMF-93-177, Revision 1, Supplement 3, ATRIUM Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) Enhanced Accident Model Topical Report (TR). The meeting was noticed on November 6, 2020, and is available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20311A663.
During the closed meeting, the Framatome representatives and the NRC staff discussed Framatomes presentations which provided an overview of the upcoming submittal of the TR, including analytical model improvements, scope, schedule, and design changes. Other discussion topics included ATRIUM BWR Enhanced Accident Model, Spacer grid benchmark, Fluid structure interaction, Framatome (KWU) Impact (STOSS) Code (KWUSTOSS) sample problem, Summary, and next steps for future interactions.
