TRANSAMERICA'DE LAVAL, INC. - SUSPECTED FALSIFICATION OF QA/QC RECORDS (5-84-008) ,
This is a response to your inquiry dated December 11,.1985, for information needed for the OIE Allegation Data Input Form. I apologize for our not meeting' your requested date of December 26, 1985. I have been on AL.and since my '
return, I have been working through the stack of mail.
'By background, this office has had an open case on TRANSAMERICA DE LAVAL, INC.
(TDL) since February 7,1984 With the exception of initial contacts with the alleger, 01 has lacked the resources to pursue this. matter. Inasmuch as the problems with TDL's diesels are well known in the nuclear and ship industries, the health and safety issue of notifying cossessors of the problems with TDL's diesels has been done. Consequently, this case has been prioritized behind investigations involving nuclear plants on NT0Ls or other significant reasons.
Though the case is in a pending inactive status, it is assioned to Investigator Eugene J. POWER. POWER is presently. on assignment for. an undetermined period of time to 01:Rll working on investigations of allegations involving TVA. In i his absence, I would be the point of contact. . Set out below- are answers to your other questions.
