How are the tailings being transported?

ANSWER.

The preferred types of transportation for relocating uranium mill tailings consist of truck hauling, train hauling and the combination of the two. Other-forms have been proposed, such as slurry piping, which consists of piping tailings in a wet form from the existing site to the disposal site. At this time the pipeline option has not.been used because of the high cost, unacceptable accident scenarios, and the tindesirability of handling overly saturated tailings.
