The fire protection safety evaluation report for Joseph M. Farley Units No. 1 and 2, titled " Fire Protection Safety Evaluation Report by the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, in the matter of Alabama Power Company Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, Unit Nos. 1 and 2, Docket Nos. 50-348/364," and dated February 12, 1979, has been reviewed and adequately reflects j
our concerns and recommendations.
We concur in the NRC findings and the conclusion that upon implementation of the modifications listed in the report the fire protection program will be acceptable.
Our review was based on the guidelines set forth in Appendix A to Branch Technical Position APCSB 9.5-1.
The review process of the plant's fire protection program was a joint effort of NRC and GBA staff personnel, and frequent contact

was maintained during the review process.
However, the GBA con-l currence is based on an independent evaluation of documents sub-f mitted by Alabama Power Company, of conditions noted during site visits in November 1977 and October 1978, and of documents supplied in response to requests for information generated during the evalu-ation.
