RE: JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PIANT Fire Protection Program Review Alabama Power Company has conducted a detailed review of cables passing through the component cooling water pump room.
Et was determined that only one exists (power cable for auxiliary feedwater pump room cooler) where redun-dant cables for hot shutdown equipment run through the area with less than twenty foot separation that do not terminate in the room. While the subject cables do not carry power to the auxiliary feedwater pumps they are required for long term cooling of the pump rooms.
Due to the congestion of cables in this area, Alabama Power Company plans to remove the "B" train auxiliary feedwater pump room cooler cable from the room as discussed with Mr. Ed Reeves by phone on December 12, 1978.
It is our understanding that no other outstanding items exist in review of our fire protection program at Farley Nuclear Plant Units 1 and 2.
