EVALUATION OF THE SECOND 10-YEAR INTERVAL INSERVICE INSPECTION PROGRAM REQUEST FOR RELIEF NO.12R-14 FOR BRAIDWOOD STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 (TAC NOS. MA1612 AND MA1613)
Dear Mr. Kingsley:
By letter dated April 17,1998, as supplemented by letter dated August 3,1998, the Commonwealth Edison Company (Comed) submitted the second 10-year interval inservice inspection (ISI) program plan and associated relief requests for Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2. The staff has reviewed and evaluated the information provided by Comed related to request for relief 12R-14. This relief request proposes to use the Technical Specifications (TS)
(or the improved TS Technical Requirements Manual when implemented) for snubber visual examinations. The staff finds that the proposed attemative provides an acceptable level of quality and safety. Relief Request 12R-14 is authorized pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(a)(3)(i).
