1 STARTUP REPORT QUARTERLY UPDATE CATAWBA UNIT 2 CYCLE 1 i
August 13,1987 TESTING COMPLETED DURING OUARTER WASTE GAS EFFLUENT RADIATION MONITORING TEST -
TP/0/B/2600/15A This test was described in Sections 9.3 and 10.6 in the Startup Report. It required completion of modifications to the Waste Gas system. This was done during the summer of 1987. EMF 50 (Waste Gas Radiation Monitor) was then tested on July 29. Testing included verification of instrument sensitivity and accuracy compared to sample results.
l Following initial test failure due to problems with test i
methods EMF 50 was successfully retested twice to ensure i
reliable test results. Testing also revealed a problem with j
the pressure regulating valve. It did not maintian stable pressure in the sample chamber. However, the function of EMF 50 was evaluated to have met the FSAR requirements.
STATUS OF TESTING NOT COMPLETE I
STEADY STATE PIPING SYSTEMS OPERATIONAL VIBRATION MEASUREMENT - TP/2/A/1200/21 This test was described in Sections 10.5 and 11.5 in the Startup Report. It is complete except for retesting of piping associated with the Diesel Generator Fuel Oil and Lube Oil systems. Additional restraints are to be installed before or during the upcoming refueling outage.
