Commonwealth Edison Company Nutt. EAR PROCEDURE NO. 5 Effective: March 18, 1986 Reporting Nuclear Fuel /SNM Discrepancies and Supersedes Nuclear Procedure No. 5, Unprotected Conditions dated 1-20-84 The following is the procedure for reporting discrepancies in nuclear fuel or other special nuclear material (SNM) including any instance of such fuel or SNM found to be in an unauthorized or unprotected location or condition.
Area Responsible Action 1.
In case:
(a) any discrepancy is NM Custodian, Other Station Personnel, discovered between station records or Audit Staff and physical inventories, or (b) fue?/SNM is observed to be in an unauthorized or unprotected location or condition - report such incident imediately to the Services Superintendent and to the NMS Manager.

2.
In case of (b) above, also report the condition or locations to the Station Security Administrator.
Station Security 3.
Arrange for security of the condition or Administrator location reported in Step 2 above until the fuel /SNM is moved to a protected or authorized area.
Inve.tigate each reported incident

Advise the NMS Manager of the progress of the investigation.
NHS Manager 5.
If a reported incident is not resolved withi.n 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br />, notify the appropriate Company Executives, and, as required by Title 10 CFR 73, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission.

If investigation shows that nuclear fuel /SNM is missing, imediately notify the NMS Manager.
